Our favorite Shanghai restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Pretty tasty food, however in terms of service, a few of the waiters can be a bit rude! We tried to order ice waters and they grunted in response/made angry faces like ಠ益ಠ. They didn't bring the waters out until the fourth time asking. Food is still p bomb though. Restaurant is a bit on the small side.

Tasty Chinese food can be found here. You feel you're in China the moment you enter. Good to come in groups, preferably with someone that understands Chinese and know Chinese food, as the description in the menu in English is not enough to understand what is the dish and you may be ordering something that is completely different of what you're expecting. The food itself is really good and worth the price.

Very authentic Shanghai cuisines. Have been here three times and nothing has been disappointing.

Rating is for food only though waiters were nice and polite. Ordered the Xiao Long Bao, Pea Sprouts in Garlic Sauce, Spicy Wanton, Shrimp and Chive Dumpling. Everything was delicious, especially the Pea Sprouts and Spicy Wanton.Went again and enjoyed the claypot chicken and stir fried long beans

Food was really good. Big selection of dishes to try. Enjoyed the spicy dumplings a lot.

I thought the noodle is a small one, since it costs only $9.95. I am wrong. It's so huge that I can only consume 1/3, but it tastes good. I also find a ladle with it, which should have been used for sharing it with several people, I guess...When I ask for taking away the remains, definitely hear someone's snickers ರ_ರ The only drawback is parking problem. It's hard to find a parking place very close to the restaurant on weekend.

I highly recommend! Great Shanghai style food! Very fast service! Great for a big family gathering or 4-5 people..

Sunday lunch, fairly busy, got seated at a shared table quickly. Ordered the Shanghai dry fried dumpling and then pork belly with mustard greens. Both are dished I've had before at multiple restaurants and like very much, the dumplings were bland and the dough was oil drenched, and to top it off I found a piece of plastic in one of them. As for the pork the mustard greens were sparse, and the sauce did not come coating the food and was fairly watery. Overall I am disappointed in the food, with lukewarm feelings on the expedient but cold service. As for value, I recommend it to anyone who enjoys inedible surprises in their food.

They don’t have a large space, so sometimes you need to wait. But their service is great. And the food is super delicious. It deserves waiting.

Great food! Super authentic Shanghai food! You should try this place if you haven't tried Shanghai food but love Chinese food in general. It's a small place so be prepared for waiting especially Friday and Saturday nights. Waiters are very Chinese style but very friendly. Try this place, you won't regret it!

The best Xiao Long Bao in the Bay Area! The food here is delicious and unusual. The waiters were super friendly and helped us order some really yummy dishes. It can get crowded and there is often a wait, so be prepared.

They have many authentic Shanghainese cuisine! Some of the waiters are Shanghainese! Love their Shanghai Rice cake, Wine chicken, Shanghai style sweet and sour spareribs, braised pork, Sauteed Eel, Shanghai Style rice in clay pot!

Better than average food. Some of the items we ordered are tasty and some are meh. The wait time is ridiculous though. We waited for more than an hour in their tiny entrance

It was a bit crowed as we visited on Saturday around the dragon boat festival. The dishes were served fast after the order. I like the food especially the sauteed prawns, drunk chicken and a veggie dish. We ordered the red bean rice cake for the festival, and they turned out fine.

Excellent steamed juicy buns, pot stickers, rice cakes, spicy fish. Desserts great too. Staff so kind and friendly. No wonder our Chinese friend (40 year resident of San Mateo) recommended this place!

The food was good and price was reasonable

The pine nut fish is perfectly sweet, sour, soft and crispy. I dislike the soup dumplings as they have no soup in them at allThe 生煎包 is not bad, with crispy pan fried bun!The onion noodles are okay, too much to finish.

Good shen jiang bao and spicy wontons. The shen jiang bao were juicy and had fairly thin skin which meant that the bottom was super crispy.

Most of the Shanghainese restaurants I've eaten at are hole-in-the-wall places. This is quite a bit fancier. We ordered a full banquet for a special occasion so it was very fancy and expensive but I was impressed. My friend rated the quality 80% as good as the food in Shanghai, having recently returned from there.

Boiled lamb spicy stew, cuttlefish with pothered mustard, wu-xi crispy eel.
